Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, takes different forms; Primary, in which no medical cause can be determined and Secondary hypertension which has known causes connected to conditions affecting the kidneys, arteries, endocrine system or heart.

Several steps can be taken to help lower the blood pressure if it is at a critical point.

Stress reduction is one of the most important life style changes that a hypertensive person can make. Identifying the sources of ones stress and altering them or even eliminating them if possible would be a great first step.
